The latest in a series, this 1420-page book, with searchable CD-ROM, comprises 199 articles representing research on all phases of structural health monitoring. This work was originally presented at the Fifth European Workshop on Structural Health Monitoring, held in June/July, 2010. The volume offers key never-published technical solutions for structural health as used in wind turbines, as well as in transportation and civil infrastructure. Included are investigations of how SHM enhances the maintenance, safety, and lifecycle of aircraft, ground vehicles, buildings, and industrial machinery. Other chapters cover damage detections algorithms, sensors, networking, and embedding.
