The international Journal of Residuals Science & Technology (JRST) is a blind-refereed quarterly devoted to conscientious analysis and commentary regarding significant environmental sciences-oriented research and technical management of residuals in the environment. The journal provides a forum for scientific investigations addressing contamination within environmental media of air, water, soil, and biota and also offers studies exploring source, fate, transport, and ecological effects of environmental contamination. JRST is dedicated to being an important source for latest research and information on detection, measurement, chemistry, toxicology, history, and fate analysis of substances persisting in soil, air, and water after production, transportation, purification, incineration, water and wastewater treatment, injection, composting, and land application for examples. Residuals or contamination may be delineated in terms of chemical characterization, spatial extent and proximity, biological influences, responsible parties or origins, and legal consequences.

The Journal of Residuals Science and Technology (JRST) provides a forum for the publication of technical research on environmental residuals of two kinds. Residuals discussed include, first, unprocessed pollutants that survive after pollution control processes are applied. Thus the journal publishes research examining the effects of potentially hazardous residues remaining after or resulting from wastewater, water, air, solid, and industrial waste treatment. Second, the journal will publish investigations into techniques for monitoring, controlling and managing air, water and soil pollutants that enter, and remain in, the environment. This type of residual comprises chemicals and bioactives generated by communities and industries, including agriculture, food processing, chemical and pharmaceutical production, and the medical sector. Together with monitoring technology and fate analysis, the journal invites work on new strategies to limit and mitigate pollutants, especially those proven to be health hazards and thus subjects of biomedical analysis or clinical intervention.
